Bequests & planned giving

Extend your compassion for animals beyond your lifetime

Your love of animals can extend beyond your lifetime, and a gift in your will ensures that we can continue our fight for animals for years to come. Bequests are a vital source of income for VHS, and make up approximately one-third of our income every year.

We understand how important and personal writing a will can be. The information below tells you more about leaving a gift in your will to VHS, along with some advice on how the process works.

Leaving a bequest

Thank you for considering leaving a gift to the animals. We gratefully accept the following gifts:

Bequests (Specific, Residual, Contingent)
Gifts of securities (including appreciated stocks, bonds and mutual funds)
Gifts from a trust
RRSP’s, RRIF’s
Property
Life insurance policies
